Starting 2012 Russian oblast listing is done according to the current federal structure of Russian Federation. Excluded regions:
- Ust-Ordynskiy Buryatskiy AO (R0R, ex R8T) (joined to Irkutskaya obl.)
- Aginskiy Buryatskiy AO (R0V, ex R8V) (joined to Zabaykalskiy krai)
- Komi-Permyatskiy AO (R9G) (joined to Permskiy krai)
- Taymyrskiy AO (R0B) and Evenkiskiy AO (R0H) (joined Krasnoyarskiy krai)
- Koryakskiy AO (R0X) (joined Kamchatskiy krai)

Permskiy krai (R9F) and Komi (R9X) are transferred to the European Russia.
